You are invited to the premiere of an extraordinary presentation
Where did all these eggs come from?
An eggs-ceptional presentation by Connecticut’s eggspert, Yvonne Klancko
Sponsored by St. John’s “R” Club
Sunday, March 12th, 2017
10:30 a.m. (after Divine Liturgy)
St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church
384 Mill Hill Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut
Yvie will discuss the history of the egg at Easter, provide some of the classic tales, and show examples of the various art forms, including the pysanky, her particular “eggspertise.” For those interested in creating their own pysanky (from the Slavic word pysat’, “to write”), books, dyes, instruments and all types of products will be available for purchase
You don’t want to miss this special presentation! The Klanckos’ collection is widely known and Yvie’s artistry is beyond description. Her eggs have been exhibited at museums and universities, and two eggs she created were presented to Mikhail Gorbachev in 1995 when he spoke at the opening of the University of Connecticut Dodd Center. Come see what all the buzz is about!
